The goal of SON is to simplify thenetwork management by auto-configuration and autooptimization.Optimization of coverage and capacity is one of the highlevelSON use cases. This paper provides some backgroundof SON principles and presents a model that illustrates theSON optimization of coverage and capacity. Based on inputparameters, better coverage in this model is ensured byautomatic adjustment of antenna tilt.
